Who requires Hunter Education in Newfoundland & Labrador?

Residents

Any person wishing to hunt game with a firearm or bow must possess an Outdoor Identification Card that acknowledges completion of recognized firearm safety and hunter education course.

Non-Residents

Non-resident must possess equivalent proof of completion of a recognized hunter education course.

Minimum Age Requirements

  • Big Game License: 16 years old
  • Small Game License: 12 years old

Online Training Available?

Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL)

A PAL is NOT required to obtain a Hunting License in Newfoundland & Labrador.
