Who requires Hunter Education in Prince Edward Island?

Residents

Anyone who carries a firearm in game habitat requires a nationally certified Hunter Education (IHEA certified). Hunter Education certification is also required to purchase a license.

Non-Residents

Same applies to non-residents as to residents. Hunter Education certification from any Province, Territory, or State using IHEA standards is accepted.

Minimum Age Requirements

  • Small Game License: 12
  • Hunter Education: 12

Exam challenge

CFSC and Hunter Ed. exam challenges ARE NOT available, without first taking the appropriate courses and passing the written exams.

Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL)

A PAL is NOT required to obtain a Hunting License in Prince Edward Island.
